About AUTISM

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects social interaction, communication, and behavior. Many individuals with autism possess unique strengths, including creativity, deep focus, and innovative problem-solving. However, challenges such as sensory sensitivities, difficulties with social relationships, and the need for structured routines can also be present.

A formal diagnosis can provide clarity, access to support services, and accommodations in education and employment. Understanding autism in adulthood can be life-changing, validating past experiences and enabling individuals to work with their strengths rather than against them.

What happens during assessment?

  • Remote Assessment (40–50 minutes)

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) – Module 4 is a highly regarded tool for assessing autism in verbally fluent adolescents and adults. It provides valuable insights into social interaction, communication style, and behavioral patterns. This part of the assessment includes interview and activities, with the focus being on observing social interaction style and communication, as well as possible presentation of any stereotyped or repetitive behaviours. Despite the ADOS-2 having strong predictive validity and high specificity, it is not designed to be used as a standalone diagnostic instrument, instead it will be used in conjunction with other tools, such as a robust developmental history/Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) for a more accurate diagnosis.

  • Expert-Led Evaluation by our Multidiciplinary Team

  • Detailed Feedback Session

  • Comprehensive Report/Diagnosis (provided within two weeks)

  • Discussion of Treatment Options (if desired)

Post-Diagnostic Support

For those seeking additional guidance, psychological therapy is available to explore coping strategies, executive functioning skills, and emotional well-being. Therapy may draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Many people with autism experience co-existing conditions such as anxiety, burnout, or difficulties with self-identity, which can be addressed through therapy.

What does it cost?

There are no hidden costs. The cost of a full Autism assessment is £1750.
